KILROY Finland, ISIC Student Services (Helsinki)

About ISIC & KILROY

Our purpose at ISIC, International Student Identity Card, is to increase intercultural understanding and educational opportunities for students, and to make student life better across the globe. ISIC offers over 150.000 student benefits in 130 countries around the world and is endorsed by UNESCO.

In the Nordics and the Netherlands, ISIC Association is represented by student travel agency KILROY, and the ISIC team that serves all six markets is situated in Helsinki. Working for ISIC means you are working for an NGO while being employed by a private company, which gives you a unique view and work experience in both types of organizations.

The team

Your colleagues will consist of both ISIC Association members around the world and KILROY travel agency staff. We work closely with Frank student services as well.

The ISIC team itself consists of four professionals with ambition to make the student life better and help broadening horizons for students. In our free time, we like to go bikepacking and hiking, read, listen to podcasts and do crafts, and to travel and meet new people when we can. Inclusivity, education,  and international mindset at large are important values for us both personally and in our work.

We are looking for a Business Development Specialist to join us in making student life better in the Nordics and Netherlands. The position is new and ideal for someone who has recently graduated and looking for a full-time position. We are located in central Helsinki.

About the position

Together with Head of ISIC and the team, the Business Development Specialist will learn to expand and manage the benefit portfolio available for ISIC cardholders and to optimize and coordinate ISIC's affiliate partnerships in the Nordics and the Netherlands. There is no budget responsibility unless the candidate wishes otherwise, this is a position with room to grow as a partnership & solutions professional.

A successful ISIC Business Development Specialist has a hands-on approach to sales and a drive to work the deal through with a solution for the partner in mind. They are able to communicate clearly and constructively (important in our international sphere of work) and eager to proactively develop competencies to grow professionally as they have a clear path for advancement. Both flexibility and productivity, a.k.a. getting the work done in time, are success factors as well. This position does not entail cold calls, it is about identifying our partner's needs and to solve them while creating value for our students.

The Business Development Specialist works closely with both Head of ISIC and ISIC Marketing Manager.

About you

ISIC is all about student life. We wish our Business Development Specialist to be able to relate to students, their needs and behavior. The following competences/background are an advantage when applying for the position:

Motivation to bring the best deals & benefits to students and success to our partners
Fluency in at least one of the Nordic languages or Dutch and most importantly, in English
Experience in working in English
Living in another country as a student or otherwise
Having been active in a student organization

We offer

A truly international working environment – you will be forming and cultivating partnerships from all Nordic countries and the Netherlands
A unique opportunity of working for an Association within a private company & gaining experience on both
Driven and flexible colleagues who strive for inclusivity and take their work seriously, while having a moment for a good laugh too
A 2-week introduction program and continuous training
A workspace in the heart of Helsinki
Membership of KILROY Nutcrackers, the recreational club of KILROY staff
Lunch-, travel- and other benefits.

The process

We will review all applications during the application period and begin to do short first-round interviews as candidates who match our profile appear. We will notify all applicants on the week following the end of application period as to the next steps.
Altogether there will be three rounds of interviews, and we hope to conclude the process by end of June. We are aiming for the right candidates to begin their work on August 1st but are ready to be flexible with the schedule - finding the right person for the team comes first.
