KILROY is looking for a Bristol-based Events and Social Media Coordinator to increase brand awareness and generate leads for our first UK retail store.

About the role 

As our Events and Social Media Coordinator, you will be responsible for organising events that attract students and young travellers and generate leads for the KILROY UK sales team. These events will be a mix of internal events, such as in-person travel talks held at our Bristol store, as well as external events, including Fresher’s Fairs at local universities.  

You’ll be responsible for promoting these events to our target audience, using paid and organic social media, and will be expected to identify local advertising opportunities, such as print or display. In addition to event promotion, you’ll also nurture attendees after the event with email marketing.  

You’ll also take ownership of our social media channels, creating engaging content with a view to increasing our follower count across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.  

This role is based in our Bristol store, though travel around Bristol will be required at times, and there will be occasions when travel further afield in the UK is required. You’ll be reporting to the UK Marketing Manager.  

While we hope you come with a few years of professional experience, your confidence with public speaking and enthusiasm for creating awesome events and social media content is equally as important.  

Your key responsibilities will be: 

  • Organising in-person events and online travel talks  
  • Identifying opportunities to represent KILROY at local and national events relevant to our target audience 
  • Budgeting for events and their promotion to ensure we can host events year-round with the available annual budget 
  • Maintaining event planning documents that enable the wider team to keep track of what’s planned, the success of the event, costs and learnings for future events 
  • Promoting events using organic and paid channels, under the supervision of the marketing manager 
  • Liaising with the design team in Copenhagen HQ to generate creative to promote events and using tools such as Photoshop to edit templates 
  • Creating content for our social media channels – this will include a mix of images and video 
  • Working closely with the UK team to ideate topics for events, organise attendance at travel talks and feature the team in our social media content 

Who we’re looking for 

  • You’re an outgoing, confident, enthusiastic individual that loves interacting with new people and presenting to an audience 
  • You’re passionate about travelling and share our belief in the power of travel for young people 
  • You have experience planning and hosting in-person events 
  • You’re detail-oriented and organised, and able to manage multiple responsibilities at once 
  • You’re proactive and eager to find new opportunities to promote KILROY through events in the local community and further afield 
  • You love creating content for social media and know your way around Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, and the creative tools they provide 
  • You’re happy to travel around Bristol and even across the south of England to host events 
  • You’re comfortable with working evenings and weekends for time off in lieu 

Experience in Facebook Ads Manager and email marketing is a plus, but not essential – our UK marketing manager will support and train you in these areas.  

A full driver's licence is also a plus.
